The City as a Sponge
Florian Boer - Thierry Kandjee
8 October 2018, 19:00-21:00
WTC–1, 23th floor, Brussels

On Monday 8 October 2018, a debate evening will take place in the Brussels exhibition of the International Architecture Biennale (IABR), titled You Are Here. The debate series places 12 urgent challenges on the agenda en questions the role of spatial design in imagining and testing optimistic answers, under the heading “no transition without spatial transformation”. In 12 evenings we bring together transitional thinkers, experts, urbanists and architects at the 23th floor of the WTC building in Brussels.

On the 8th of October, Florian Boer (de Urbanists, Rotterdam) and Thierry Kandjee (Taktyk, Brussels) will present their work. Their presentations will be followed by a debate on how our cities can (agin) make space for water –instead of draining it as fast as possible– to build a healthier water cycle and more qualitative public space.
